Jack's Big Music Show - Officially Addicted

So the story of Jack starts a few months back when my Dad mentioned that a newphew of ours that is nearly the same age as Aubrey was interested in a show on the Noggin cable station called Jack's Big Music Show. So we went online and found Jack on the Noggin website. Since Aubrey is all about anything music or dancing related, she was immediately interested. Unfortunately, we didn't get Noggin with our cable package. I did find a DVD of some Jack episodes (Target) and thought we would try it out. That was our big mistake. At first Aubrey liked Jack and thought it was fun to dance around and clap. Then she started to want to watch Jack every morning when she woke up. Now, Aubrey will sit enthralled with Jack whenever it is on. The bad part is that there are only 4 episodes on the DVD, so we have seen them all 20 times. I hear that there are reinforcements coming in the mail, but for now we are stuck with Ground Hog day, Jack and the Beanstalk, Mel turns into a Cat and Little Bad Wolf. Great TV for those of you with small toddlers.

Aubrey's Holiday Pictures

Gia did a nice thing after my birthday and offered to take some holiday pictures of Aubrey. It sounded like a good deal (free) and they turned out really cute. So this year we sent out Christmas cards with Aubrey wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. We got the special holiday dress at Target, of course!

Real Halloween

Hard to tell who is having more fun here, Aubrey or mom. We again gave away over 400 pieces of candy this year!

Fall Rake Up

It always helps to get your kid working on household chores early. Aubrey did a great job trying to rake the leaves, but then found it more fun to spread them back out all over. I laughed when she would stick her head in the leaves and then flail around trying to dig in the leaves. Eventually we got all the leaves into our mulch pile, but it took some work and distracting of the little one.

Aubrey's Second Halloween ROOOAARRR

So it was with great excitement that we got ready for Aubrey's second Halloween. It was a lot of fun last year and we were undecided as to what to transform her into. She was really good at the "woof woof" of a puppy, but we found a great vest that was a) warm and b) cheap at a second hand store. So she was a technically a tiger, but since she only knew when to roar when we said "Aubrey, what does a lion say?" we went with lion. We had a nice day earlier in the week to take some great outdoor pictures. The leaves had mostly fallen off the trees and it was cool but sunny again. I used some of my photoshop tricks to add fun stuff to some of the pictures. Super cute, as usual.

Rob Turns 30 October, 2007

There was a lot of fun and a little sadness as Dad turned 30 this year. I guess that means I'll have to start acting more like an adult. We had all the family over for a great party at the Kment farm. Kelly planned for months and created a great atmosphere with the help of everyone. It was a cool autumn day, but with a great sunny sky and fall colors. Kelly found a photographer who took great pictures of everyone, although they seemed heavily skewed towards the kids. We have a ton of pictures of Aubrey, Sam and Nate. I enjoyed having everyone around and even got to take a hay ride on some real hay. Another birthday in the books.

Aubrey can read!

This child is destined for great things. One of Aubrey's favorite things to do is read. I read to her, mom reads to her, Justyna reads to her, grandmas and grandpas read to her. She is so interested in reading, she will read book after book after book. She definately has her favorites, like Humpty Dumpty, Goodnight moon and Goodnight Gorilla. It has gotten to a point that if no one is around to read to her, she will just pick up a book and read to herself. I love the middle when she looks over and looks so proud of herself. "Look, I can read this stuff... it's not that hard." Take a look...
